Track Vacancy Detection 

Safety of routes is paramount in all forms of rail-bound traffic – especially in shunting areas, across points or in depot areas.


The ZEUS product family of track vacancy detection systems ensures the safe operation of trains in both urban and heavy rail environments. The system is compatible to third party systems and is hence a perfect solution for public transportation. Alternately, the system can be used as a standalone system for subway and surface rail systems.


ZEUS-100 WSK

Efficient Vehicle Detection 

The ZEUS-100 WSK track vacancy detection system has been developed to act in safety systems up to SIL4. The components can be connected to the outside elements of a point blocking circuit without modification and is also slot-compatible with other systems. The ZEUS-100 WSK system combines the function of axle short circuit with mass detection in one component. It can be tuned to detect only the axle short circuit without the mass detection. This has advantages in sections of embedded rail that are not exclusively used by rail vehicles. Furthermore, the system allows feeder distances of up to 200m.


The alphanumeric front display shows present values and status information. This display offers an operator menu for quick and unambiguous diagnostics even without portable test equipment. A bi-directional USB interface allows the system to read configuration parameters and write all relevant diagnostics data.

 

 

ZEUS-300

Perfect Supervision 

The train detection system ZEUS-300 FTGK is a track vacancy detection system based on remotely fed audio frequency track circuits. It can however also be implemented as directly fed audio frequency track circuit in the variant OTGK. ZEUS-300 can be used as block section or point safety system both in subway and surface rail systems up to AK7 or SIL4.


Transmitter, receiver and interrogator of a track circuit are mounted in a 19’’ board rack. For a track circuit without auxiliary receiver, 20TE width is sufficient. Complex track topologies (e.g. extended points or crossing sections) can be covered with auxiliary receivers. By using electric separation joints, the track section is divided into blocks that are supervised by one track circuit each on a discrete frequency. The system however does not require insulated rail joints.


The system components of the ZEUS-300 system can be connected to the outside elements of a conventional track circuits. The indoor elements are designed to provide optimum compatibility to existing interlocking components.
